Reasons To Explore Forest Wedding Venues in California

Stunning Backdrops

Forest wedding venues in California provide some of the most gorgeous, breathtaking natural backdrops in the country. Sun-dappled pines and fern-lined paths create a magical setting that will make your guests feel like they’re in a fairytale.

Photographers love the light that filters through the trees, creating timeless, and romantic memories you’ll cherish throughout your marriage. You’ll have scenic photos with towering pines, rivers, streams, and endless greenery.

Every view throughout Twenty Mile House’s 200 forested acreage is picturesque and unforgettable.

No Noise Ordinances

One of the biggest things our couples love about a forest wedding venue is the freedom to celebrate into the night without worrying about strict noise ordinances and curfews.

You’ll find that many traditional venues require you to lower the music by 10 p.m. Our private forest location allows for later festivities—think dancing under the stars, laughing with abandon, and singing along to your favorite songs at the top of your lungs.

The seclusion of our venue gives you the privacy to celebrate on your terms, without disturbing neighbors or cutting the party short. It’s your night—why not keep the energy going long into the magical night?

Adventure Opportunities

If you’re a couple who loves to explore the outdoors—or have wedding guests who do—a forest wedding venue comes with built-in adventure. At Twenty Mile House, we offer multi-day wedding experiences that give you and your guests the chance to explore Plumas National Forest.

Sporty couples and guests will love the hiking, mountain biking, and river rafting opportunities. For more laid-back experiences, you can find horseback riding, river tubing, golfing, and fishing.

With the forest as your host, your wedding can be more than a ceremony and reception. You can curate an unforgettable experience your guests will reflect on fondly for years to come.

Intimate Atmosphere

There’s something incredibly personal and peaceful about getting married surrounded by trees instead of walls. A forest venue creates a cozy, intimate atmosphere for couples who want to be fully present with the people they love most.

The forest invites guests to slow down, unplug, and truly soak in the moment. No matter if you’re planning a micro-wedding or a larger gathering, a forest venue allows you to connect more meaningfully—with each other, your guests, and the natural world around you.

We’re not just a venue; Twenty Mile House is a setting that brings everyone closer together in a way that traditional spaces often can’t.

A Venue That Reflects You

The most important thing about your wedding is that it should feel like you. A forest venue is perfect for couples who value authenticity, adventure, and beauty that doesn’t try too hard.

You can be barefoot under the trees or dressed to the nines in rustic-chic luxury—a forest backdrop complements any style while still reflecting your shared love for nature and unique, nontraditional experiences.

Forests are canvases that let your personality shine. We can help ensure that everything feels intentional and unique to you. For couples who don't quite fit the ballroom mold, Twenty Mile House says: you don’t have to.

Eco-Friendly

If sustainability is important to you, a forest wedding venue is a beautiful and practical way to celebrate responsibly. The natural setting reduces the need for elaborate décor or artificial lighting, minimizing your environmental footprint without sacrificing beauty or style.

Twenty Mile House is a certified carbon-free venue and Green America–approved business. We couple our artistry in crafting custom weddings with a commitment to limiting our ecological footprint and preserving our precious natural resources. We source flowers and farm-to-table cuisine from our local small business vendors.

Saying “I do” in the forest means honoring love—and the planet.
